• Coalition of Societies for the Rights of Older Persons in Nigeria
About COSROPIN

The Coalition of Societies for the Rights of Older Persons in Nigeria came into being to address the myriad issues facing older persons in Nigeria. On the 6th day of November 2016, the Coalition was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), with RC No. CAC/IT/NO 90454. Previously, various groups working in ageing had been unable to produce the type of synergy needed to get government and other stakeholders to do something about the structural marginalization, neglect and exclusion of older persons from National Development Plans and Initiatives. A strong union or Coalition of stakeholders in ageing was direly needed to address the plight of older persons and given a listening ear by government and other bodies. Finally, the stakeholders came together through a platform provided by GRAF to form the Coalition
